1. The Purity of the Prophet’s (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) Lineage

Author: Mulla 'Ali al-Qari

Allah most high has purified this noble lineage from the fornication of the pre-Islamic period of ignorance [ jahiliyya ].This is reported in many acceptable reports. Al-Bayhaqi reported in his Sunan that Ibn 'Abbas said, “The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said, ‘Nothing of me hailed from the fornication of jahiliyya . I was only born through the union of Islam.’”

3. A Glimpse into Prophetic Beauty

Author: Sheikh Muhammad Khalid Thabit

"The Prophet’s (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) complete beauty has not been fully manifested, for if it was disclosed to us in full, our eyes would be unable to behold him (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The similes, therefore, that are used to describe him (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) are only for the sake of approximating and drawing similitudes, for the Prophet’s essence (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is far too exquisite and his honor is far loftier." [Imam al-Qurtubi]

4. The Martyrdom of our Master Husayn

Author: Sheikh Muhammad Khalid Thabit

The martyrdom of Husayn illustrates more than anything else the paltriness of the material world in the sight of Allah, and shows truly how it does not equal even a gnat’s wing in His estimation. The world is ephemeral and swiftly fading; there is no delight in it that remains, and no punishment in it that lasts, and so for this reason, Allah is not pleased with the world for His saints and beloveds [as a reward]. Therefore in compensation, Allah has granted them an everlasting and endless bliss: “Indeed, the abode of the Hereafter, that is the real [eternal] life, if they but knew.” (Quran 29:64)

Commentary on the Abrahamic Prayer
Imam Yusuf b. Isma'il al-Nabahani
Of all the supplications recited by Muslims around the world, perhaps the most oft-repeated are the supplications connected with the five daily prayers, among which is the closing supplication called the al-Salat al-Ibrahimiyya, or the Abrahamic Prayer, which extols our master Muhammad Seal of the Prophets (May the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), his Purified Family, and links him to Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon him), described in the Quran as “a nation unto himself.” This commentary on the Abrahamic Prayer, taken from Sheikh Yusuf al-Nabahani’s Sa‘adat al-darayn fi al-salat ‘ala Sayyid al-kawnayn (Felicity in the Two Abodes Through Prayers upon the Master of the Two Realms), examines each phrase of the closing supplication and sheds light on their inner and outer meanings.
